Re: DIY How to Vacuum seal shop bought jars at home save pou

HA HA! Chris - my inlaws are of the 'Don't-throw-anything-out' school and what they do is palm it off onto us and tell us if we dont need it, to take it to the tip - conveniently saving them a trip of course - their house is like Aunty Wainrights. Anyhow - they gave us a vacuum sealer about a year a...

Re: First full-on meal after shopping trip

Hey there!

@ Stonecut - Thanks m8, you get used to it I guess, takes a little while, but wouldn't change it now.

@ rshome123 - As above, the efficiency comes from having such a small space that you simply have to become efficient to survive  he he he

Thanks for popping by!

Re: First full-on meal after shopping trip

Thanks guys! @ Goncalo - I have always done the cooking in our house. As to the Garlic Coconut Chicken, I just asked the girls what meat they wanted, then how they wanted it to taste - this is what they came up with, so I did it. Always easier to give children what they fancy - within reason, of cou...

Re: Kasoori Methi in the UK?

The last time I did any, I did a Tom Caxton in a boots setup, so circa 1980's, LOL Do you have the addy of a websitesite where i can learn all of t...

Thanks for the comments, peeps!

It is a little tough, but only from the need to work clean and tidy, washing-up as you go. It does teach good habits I guess ;)

Thanks for looking in!

First full-on meal after shopping trip

Hi All! Went shopping on Friday, like I said and spent a good deal getting all the stuff I needed for now, to tide me over until I get my burner down from the in-laws, along with the yoghurt maker and a few other things. Here's the haul IMG_6542.jpg IMG_6545.jpg IMG_6546.jpg IMG_6547.jpg I got a pan...

Re: Waterdiddys Boat Biryani

Far from it dude - this is a BIR forum after all. I like to explore the basics of things, as well as the finer aspects. Living on the boat not only facilitates this, sometimes it demands it! It is a VERY spartan existence and I wanted to show people what can be done with little in the way of equipme...

Re: Waterdiddys Boat Biryani

LOL - it was as stated, a throw it together to be honest, Goncalo! It tasted pretty good to be fair and I am pretty sure BIR do NOT do them in the PC, you're quite right there, m8  I like to show what can be done with the minimum of stuff and kit, as the boat is ideal for it. I hope it show...

Does it work for you? Do you like the tastes? Are you happy with it?

Isn't that what matters, m8?

Waterdiddys Boat Biryani

Hey all! I had some pre-cooked Chicken and some pre-ccoked basmati left, so I thought to put them together in an ad-hoc Biryani... added a coupla getting-old lemons, some nice 'shrooms and away we go ;) Worked pretty well, I jammed it all in the pressure cooker and left it on a very low gas for 30 m...
