West Midlands Curry Meet Up
I'm organising the first West Midlands Curry Meet Up, where like minded curry-addicts can get together and have a chat and a nice curry!
I thought that a good place to start would be the "Balti Mile" in Lye. Perhaps a swift pint and a chat in the "Windsor Castle Inn" (they sell Sadlers ale) and then onto "The Spice of Lyefe" for an authentic black country balti!
Everyone is welcome and it should be a good laugh as well as a nice arena to share tips and techniques (plus its an excuse to eat a good curry)!
Please register interest on this thread and we can then arrange dates/times once people express an interest.

Good stuff, TT (I'm jealous!), hopefully you'll get a number of "takers" to make your initiative a resounding success!

A curry can never be ‘too garlicky’ or ‘too hot’ .....

Sounds good. Depending on date/time (I've got a six-year-old who takes up all of my free time) then I'm up for that!

Where in Worcs are you TikkaTom?

Not far from you Mike I'm over in Stourport. We have a member or two over in Bromsgrove too. Think you'll be joining us for the meet?
Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up
Got a feeling I may have asked you that before?.. Yes I'd be well up for it! Only on Saturday I was in Lye (city spices) and looking at all those curry houses thinking I should really pay them a visit! Like Tipton Nick, depends when... Got a lot of Christmas do's etc coming up. New year wouldn't be a bad shout but depends how soon you're thinking.

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up
Excellent Mike, We can confirm dates once everyone has expressed interest. Might well be after Christmas now as that time of year is fast approaching!
Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up
Sounds great. I live in Bristol but originally from West Brom and visit family in the mids very often.
I used to work at Tarmac which used to be in Lye so very familiar with the several balti houses on that road.
Let me know when and I will see if I can make it.

Hi Greybeard,
I've just had a brain wave...
So, you don't feel left out, how about we send you a takeaway and skype you from the restaurant?

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up
Hi all, so here are a few dates that I propose for the first West Midlands Curry Meet Up!!!
It sounds like we have a lot of interest so would be great if we can get a good turnout. Let me know if you would like to attend and which dates suit you best:
Wednesday 8th February
Sunday 12th February
Tuesday 28th February
I propose meeting in the Windsor Castle for a beer at 6.30 and then on to The Spice if Lyefe for some grub at 7.30. I'm fully open to other suggestions though.
Hope to see you all there!!
