Hi TT,
Thanks for asking us to join you for drink and a balti - best nights for me and the wife are Sunday and Tuesday - I would like to be the first to say this is very generous of you - are you sure you won't let all of us pay our own way?

:lol::

Hey, here's an idea... let's set up a boozer (don't bother licensing it for food) and advertise it as 'bring your own balti'....

I've had to move the date back as its been a very busy February, but we are now set for Tuesday 7th March , 6.30 at the Windsor Caste, Lye ! Hopefully see lots of you there!

If members can confirm their attendance that would be great, as our resident bargain hunter Slicker is going to try and arrange some discounts for us!

Sounds good to me - put me down for a single place.

Will our resident bargain hunter also be spinning the decks at The Windsor Castle, I wonder?

Not much room to barter if there's only going to be four of us - I've just sent an invite to two curry friends but it may be too short notice for them to make it - we'll have to see

I expect to join you. I checked if I could get there and back by public transport from Wolverhampton and surprisingly the answer is yes.

Good Stuff Rob, hope to see you there.

I've managed to round up 2 more locals with a background in catering and curry, so with swandro, TipTonNick, Mr & Mrs Slicker and myself that makes 7. Would be great to get a few more if anyone is interested???

Well done TT. You've done much better than I did, which was 1 YouTube celebrity and a dog!

Hi everyone,

Although not a regular poster, I do check in every now and then. I would love to meet up but, living in Shrewsbury and with a heavy workload, travelling on a 'school night' isn't appealing to me. Now a Friday or Saturday would be a different matter - me and my missus would probably come.

I hope Tuesday's still a success for those who can get there!

Regards,

Martin

Sorry guys, I tried my best but could not persuade Spice of Lyefe to do anything for us.

I later spoke to the manager of Kamrans Balti House who said that he would be delighted to welcome us all and is happy to offer us a 10% discount on the total bill.

Both restaurants are bring your own beer and are more or less opposite each other in the High Street, Lye.

For anyone interested, Kamran’s do a mid-week ‘5 course meal’ for £9.95

I haven’t been to either place so I can’t recommend or comment.

I’m not bothered which one we choose but I have a preference towards Kamran’s

I was going to suggest booking the table for 7.30pm if that’s ok with everyone?

Just waiting for final numbers attending and which restaurant you would like me to book.

730 sounds good slicker. I'm happy with either restaurant s but I must say I've never heard of Kamrans but the spice of Lyefe I know is good!

Echoing Tom on this one.

Spice of Lyefe is the more renowned of the two. Never heard of Kamrans. But I'm sure it'll be good at either. Did you square it with them for each of us to take a sample of gravy with us Slicker?

shouldn't be a problem... actually, they did say bring a bucket and they'll let us have a gallon or two of their base gravy!

I would prefer the Spice of Life only because I know they have been open for a long time. I spoke to a friend today who remembers eating there 20 years ago!

By the way, how are we going to find each other in a public house?
