November 2018 - cartz's Hari Mirchi Bhuna Gosht

Post by cartz64 »

This month's Curry Club "Curry of the Month" recipe is cartz's Hari Mirchi Bhuna Gosht, kindly selected by Bandit.

Remember, the first member to try this recipe (anew) and report back, with photos, gets to select next month's recipe......CA

Recipe can be found here

Here is my version of Hari Mirchi Bhuna Gosht (green chilli bhuna)

Bhuna Gosht is usually, traditionally a mutton stew cooked slowly with minimal spices, to reach a thick consistency.

I have developed a BIR version.

Hi Cartz..
Hats off to you for putting this one up - well done mate - the more new recipes, the better...
I too will be giving your recipe a try and will let you know what we think after we've had it.
Just wondering how you've come by this dish, is this something you get at your local restaurant?

Thanks uncle!
As with all cooking it's down to experimental attempts. I based my recipe on original bhuna gosht ingredients and brought BIR into the equation.

That's what I love about this cooking, being able to personalise recipes to suit your tastes.

Without coming over as pretentious, I had a small tub of this in the fridge for a couple of days and just re-heated it.

Flavours have developed even more, hotter, trouble is it's all gone! :noexpression:

Batch for the freezer next time! 8-)

Hi Cartz
I wouldn't be worrying yourself on how many members have replied to your recipe, 4 is not that bad as it's only been up a couple of days.

Thanks for sharing your recipe. 8-)

Cheers Rusty

Try not to worry about it, cartz, I'm sure many of us have posted recipes that have yet to receive very many comments. In fact, I know of one upstanding fellah, who started and ran his own BIR-style restaurant, that is still waiting for someone to reply to one of the recipes he posted several years ago! Yes, sad, I know, but true... :awwman:

Thanks for sharing cartz, and yes 4 (5 now) is a pretty good response. A lot of my recipes had zero replies for months/years.

Well, I have just cooked up your recipe along with 7 other curries for a get together tomorrow evening. I had a little sampler of each dish upon completion, and it tasted really good, but my taste buds were pretty shot after cooking/tasting them all.

I'll know better tomorrow how good/bad this is, along with a few other opinions.

Thanks for posting your recipe cartz, well done, nice & clear.

The last Bhuna Ghost I had must have been in the late seventies from a little TA in Millbrook near Southampton, I will give your recipe a try.
