Well, the service should be pretty sharp then.
That's the trouble with these West Aussies eh? They sure know how to party. 10 pm on a Friday? Living right on the edge

Haha, but I think (or hope!) that "Raffles" closes much later!

OK, I'm off to pick up "Alice", now. We'll be in Raffles, from around 7pm to around 8.15pm, and then again from around 10pm to late, should anyone else like to join us...even for just a drink....

Had a good night with CA and BI. Food was good, beer was good and the company was great!
Here are a few photos of our night.

Looks bang on, lads. Maybe AIR is the new BIR?
What are the deep fried goodies in the basket?
Glad you had a great time. What it's all about, really...

Thanks for uploading the photos, Willy, and thanks for an enjoyable evening, gents. Pity that "Alice" was too shy for the photoshoot!

Re: Perth, Western Australia meet up.
I presume that you're referring to Willy then (and not Alice)!
PS: We didn't eat all of the food (including the buffet)!
PPS: Also illustrates the downside of a "mining" province. When me and my wife went there (in the "boom" times) you wouldn't get a look in (on a Friday night), without booking beforehand. Now (in the "crash"), it was absolutely DEAD! No idea how they survive, in the current economic climate...
PPPS: So, you see, more Perth members participating would have gone some way towards supporting the local community!

Thinking about the amount of prep that went into that buffet .... great looking food
A curry can never be ‘too garlicky’ or ‘too hot’ .....

I did notice in one of the pics of the buffet, all the empty seats in the background, I wonder what they did with all that food ?

Re: Perth, Western Australia meet up.
It's a real shame. It's a beautiful old building in a lovely spot, and the food was more than acceptable.
As CA said, Perth is in a real downturn and has been so for a good few years.......with no end in site. Another problem is that we have too many eating establishments. More than any other Aussie city, and I heard (can't confirm it's true) that Perth has more eating establishments per head of population than any city in the world.
TN, the deep fried food was samosas along with fish and prawn pakora.

Looks like I am almost a year too late. Would be keen to join you Brits the next time you have a curry get-together.

Re: Perth, Western Australia meet up.
Definitely do come along next time Jewels. Or better still, you could organise one. We try to aim for somewhere reasonably easily accessible from a train station. I would 100% be up for a curry and a few beers.
