Re: rsaha's curry pics
Rsaha, you've done it again, what at first looks like a picture of a very well made curry, is in fact a precisely staged piece of art !!!, you certainly have a flare for this kind of thing, your pictures are a joy, well done mate.

Westy - have no fear. They will be back.
GB - I put a link at the top of the post to the recipe. It's my own Dahl Fry... The other pic I took of this curry is posted along with the recipe.

This one has no associated recipe. Not sure what exactly went wrong. I think I let things cool down too much...

I think I know what you mean there rs - it's still a nice photo but it's not got that 'je nais se quoi' that your photos usually have ... i'd still be chuffed to hell if I could produce that

Re: rsaha's curry pics
My brother, who is a very good photographer but by his own admission not as talented in this particular department as Rsaha reckons that the lemon is too light and the onion too. But he knows someone who has took snaps for ASDA and Tesco who reckons that these pics are not far from being the real deal having looked at the pics on this site.
Rsaha, you have set your bar rather high!!
He also said to spray your veg with water??

Re: rsaha's curry pics
Thanks Nick. It is a bit over-exposed - he's right. I think it's also the choice of background washing out the lemon and onion. What I can't figure out is why the curry isn't tack sharp. It looks out of focus to me. On the bright side - this was the day I discovered what a good jalfrezi is all about. A very, very happy day for me:-)

Re: rsaha's curry pics
Many years ago, I knew a girl who did the photography for the food for one of the woman's magazines, Woman's World or something, she told me that half the time, the photo's weren't even of real food, they would substitute for things that looked better. After all, ice cream, for instance, would melt pretty quickly under lights I guess.
Re: rsaha's curry pics
I take pictures of my dinner. I can assure you they are the unadulterated real deal

Madhur Jaffrey's Lemon Chicken with Coriander. Not BIR but one of my all time favourite homestyle curries.
