Made this last night without using any base, it was v nice, I didn't use much oil for the sauce and made it quite dry

Thanks, I didn't really follow any recipes, just sort of ad-libbed it and thought I'd try a curry sauce without much oil and it turned out great, I've started adding water and reducing and repeating about 4 times and it seems to give a nice rounded taste and I don't have to muck about with any bases, not strictly BIR I suppose but just as good if not better I reckon!

Yes Pete, it works and whats more its quick (and simple) and doesn't stink the house out and upset the wife (well not much anyhow!!)
