My First Two Curries

Post by anvilhead »

Well I have taken the plunge this week and cooked Vindaloo and Jalfrezi. Not 100% happy with the Vindaloo texture it was a little to thick for my preference, I think a little water in the base gravy and a little less reduction next time but the flavour was spot on. I was very pleased with the Jalfrezi it was spot on and I wont change anything with this recipie my wife even said she preferred it to her favourite from the the local curry house, the photos don't really do them justice as I have had to reduce the quality to upload them. All in all a good start me thinks in my BIR endeavours :yahoo:

They look marvellous. Well done!
Personally, I always appreciate if people also mention which recipe they followed when posting photos, though.

The best day of the week to prepare onions for a base gravy is a Fryday 8-)

Thanks for the comments folks, I was very happy with the results for a first attempt. I have since cooked a Naga Chicken following rshome123's recipie and can honestly say it was just as good as my favourite takeaway, It didn't last long enough to take a photo but I am cooking it up again soon and will post some pics.
