First Attempt

Prawn and Mushroom Madras

My first attempt since joining this forum yesterday! I used the basic mix, base, and madras recipes from the newbies section, except I substituted king prawns and some mushrooms a few minutes from the end of the cook time. I have to say it was pretty darned good, certainly a step above my previous best attempts, and definitely motivating enough for me to want to get into the more in-depth recipes I'm sure are lurking in the sections I can't get to until I've made my 3 posts

Cheers

The base / fry technique really does make a difference Blodwyn - I was amazed at the difference it made with my first BIR as well. Glad you enjoyed it, looking forward to hearing about your other adventures.

If this is your first attempt, blodwyn, I cannot wait to see your later efforts once you are up to speed. Well done, looks great.

Thanks for all your encouragement

I've found previously that If I kept a curry in the fridge for a day or so, the flavor seemed to smooth out and the heat would reduce a bit. My intent with this one was to eat half and save the rest to see if/how it changed overnight. So I ate the first half, and then promptly ate the rest of it. Oh well, I'll make double next time and maybe that way I'll get some left over for the comparison......

Cheers
