Post by charliebir »

From Alford Tandoori.

Naga Morris had a nice kick, but not overly hot.

All was excellent, SF.

That's why its worth the 20 mile, 1 hour round trip.

You are probably thinking of Adeys restaurant in Alford, Lincs ? ( I see on his facebook page he is refurbishing and renaming. End of thread derailing, Please focus Charlie !)

The madras, funnily enough was my favourite. just as I like it. Runny, full of flavour, plain chicken with a nice "kick".

The others were also tasty, but had tandoori chicken in them which seemed to overpower the other flavours.

Don't get me wrong. I love Tandoori, but in its place.

Provided our own rice and puris.

Their naans are not great. We tried a chappati with this. Not great. Cost £1,50. We could do better ourselves.

Curries second to none (that I know of !)

Had Chinese T/A this weekend.

Both suffering from CWS (Curry Withdrawal Symptoms)

Remedied by polishing off the frozen container of Naga Morish Chicken, Garlic Chilli Tandoori Chicken with own pillau rice.

Naga at top. GCC at bottom.

Problem solved for now.

Mr Naga on order !!!

Nice one Charlie

Thanks for sharing your views on your latest take-way, must be worth all the effort
travelling that sort of distance ?

Naga, that's something I haven't had in a while, having gone head to head with my son at Christmas on a teaspoon full of Mr Naga pickle from the jar, I must admit to wimping out, it put me off the stuff for a while, but now i think I'm fully recovered to try some again in a curry this time. . .

BTW my son lasted 8 minutes, I only managed 3 before nearly drowning myself in milk ! . . . Trust me, Don't try it.

Charlie,

That looks like a decent bit of nosh there. But the plate! The red really compliments the rice and curry beautifully and makes it look so appetising. Or is it a subtle warning to Korma lover's :

Seriously though, the eyes eat before the stomach. I can now see why some Japanese food is served on black plates.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Hi Lee.

The naga was on the menu, so after looking at i for a couple of months we decided to give it a try. You got to explore to learn.

As it happened it was very tasty. No real heat. Must have been well watered down.

As for the Naga pickle, like you I will probably try it and move on.

Thanks for your comments, GB. Yes it is worth the journey, but like here we will buy a few and freeze leftovers to make it worthwhile.

Hi GB,

Further thoughts on the plate.

I have often thought that with them being relatively dark, they do not show the dish to its best.

However thats what we eat them off so thats what they get photographed on !!!

Looks good and nice to see the dishes aren't caked in ghee or oil
