Chicken 65 by Rshome123
With the amount of ingredients in the Chicken 65 recipe i was a little disappointed, not much flavour at all just heat, flavour of the chicken was lost, which really is what makes this dish, shame really because it looks lovely on the plate.

Looks like a nice starter selection UF. Those Pakoras and Tikka eye inspiring.
Thanks for your honest feedback on the Chicken 65. I'm a little surprised it didn't float your boat, as I just can't stop eating it.
I'm assuming you followed the recipe exactly, but a few questions if I may...
- Any deviations from the recipe... if so what?
- Did you use Tandoori Masala paste, or TM powder? If so, which brands and clarify quantity.
- Was the amount of Tomato Ketchup used about 2.5 TBSP as per recipe ?
- Did you taste the sauce near the end as suggested in the recipe, and adjust the salt, lemon etc. ?
- Did you use full fat or fat free yoghurt ?

Hi rshome
i followed recipe to the letter.
I used Tandoori Powder (RAJAH) when marinating the chicken
Used Tandoori Paste (PATAK) when i added to the sauce
Full Fat Yoghurt
Yes used 2.5 tbsp ketchup
Yes i did taste towards end of cooking.
I will try some chilli sauce next time because you need that stickiness, can't see what the dark soy adds to be honest, i will try using this http://thehungrygoddess.com/2013/01/tom ... lic-sauce/

ok mate, I found that squeezing lots of extra lemon juice on top after cooking really helped it along.
Also, I wonder if you used more tandoori masala powder in the batter stage, and/or more tandoori paste, it may meet your requirements.
I find the soy sauce just adds a hint of umami flavour. A good tomato based chilli sauce is bound to improve it also.
