Taster Menu
Made this for my cousin and his wife last Saturday night. I use 3 pieces of chicken in each curry for each person.
Re: Taster Menu

Re: Taster Menu
Thank you for the kind words, lagerlad i have a "keep warm" on my oven, it has to be one of the best things to have when cooking curries, sometimes you do get a little bit of water round the edges of the dishes but a quick stir solves that problem. I cook 4 different curries at the same time because i only have 4 omelette pans and i have this
The pots hold enough curry for two people, so i have my oven and the Curry Station.

hi UF
thanks for the reply, at this stage in my indian quest i am just cooking one at a time then putting it in the oven on a low heat seems to work ok,curry station looks the biz tho!.
i am gonna try and up it to two at a time at next curry night but i have a feeling it will make everything much more difficult ie wrong ingredients in wrong curry hopefully a few attempts and i will get the hang of it,think i need to eat more curry to improve my cooking and timing..........what a great hobby this is cheers lagerlad

Re: Taster Menu
Lagerlad,
Alternatively, you might want to try the judicious use of precooked curries, a microwave, and a Bain Marie.
That should do the trick, admirably

hi CA
yes i know what you are saying not too keen on microwaving curries tend to use that for precooked rice of which your veg one is my favourite totally ace,and if you have people round you want them to see it freshly made and get the clattering of the pan(s) and the smell, all makes for the curry experience!!!! cheers lagerlad

UF
A really tempting looking spread, well presented, well photographed. It's got my juices flowing.
Unfortunately, it' 6.30 am here, and my toast and marmalade just stopped being adequate!

to assist you in your first attempts at more than one curry on the go at a time, you could try the following;-
Measure out all spices for one curry and put on a plate, same with all other ingredients, in the order that you require them.
Do the same for the second curry.
Once the first curry is at the stage where spices are cooked, base gravy, 1st ladle, has been added along with the meat, you will have enough time to start the 2nd curry and get it to the same stage before the 1st curry requires your attention again.
In H4ppy Chris videos, look how chef Sham does it. A very good example of turning out multiple curries at once.

Re: Taster Menu
re UF's "curry station"
just remembered seeing similar crock pots over here in Thailand at an electrical outlet called "Powerbuy".
Each pot was sold separately, with it's own plug and lead, and would appear to be large enough for a double portion.
It didn't occur to me at the time that they could be used to keep food hot while other dishes were being cooked.
Each pot was around the 7 pound sterling mark. With larger pots available as well but I can't recall the price of them.
I tend to use the same method as CA, reheating in a micro wave and maybe cooking one last curry for show, or I have to spend a considerable time in the kitchen which I would rather spend with my guests.
