A great set of photos, UF, thanks for making and sharing your results. I like your approach of not being tempted to taste it until meal time, as it's always tempting to add something extra at the end, probably when you're least able to tell if it needs it or not.

If I may say so UF, doesn't look very heavy on the Coriander. Is that my recipe speaking ? Tablespoons of fresh coriander can be elusive... I pack mine in tight.

Hi rshome i never use tbsp measurements when adding fresh coriander, your recipe states finely chopped stalks and leaves so that's what i did, i added large pinch of stalks when adding oil, ginger and garlic paste, i used a large heaped palm full of stalks when adding the chicken and then added a very large palm sized of coriander leaves then garnished with yet more coriander leaves. It was very heavy on coriander but i do love coriander.

Glad to hear you like Coriander. The photos don't show much greenness, so I was just curious as to how much you used.

You are not going to see a lot of green colour because i didn't blend it i finely chopped the coriander, if the dish is supposed to have a green tinge to the dish then next time i make it, which will be tomorrow, i will add some blended coriander as well.

I don't blend for this dish.. just very finely chop. It may just be one of those things. blending the coriander might be a good idea though.

Thought I better make it as I chose it :)

Recipe followed 100% and damn tasty, used my own experimental super secret squirrel base and Ahmed Foods chilli pickle.

Also made British Indians korma and rshome123's chicken tikka massala, plus a few Laziza packet mix Seekh kebab.

Nice one squibo - looking very good there.
Had severe curry cravings Monday morning so had a go at this too. Major change to recipe was that I used mushrooms instead of meat....Plus I didn't have any proper chilli pickle so used something called Hellish Relish (made locally) which is full of chillies and fairly sweet so backed off on the sugar and used 2tsp.

Agreed This dish is very very tasty - tangy, creamy, sweet, sour.
Here's some photos.

Mushrooms and coriander stalks in after first splash of base.

Plenty of caramelisation going on.

Lovely! Very different and I would definitely make this again.

Thanks seafret, tbh if I only saw the last pic I would have assumed that was chicken.

Bonjour,

Just checking out the ingredients to give this one a go. Have/can get everything except the Chilli Pickle, but guessing that's a fairly important part of the dish.

Closest I have is this;
