Love the idea of this - coriander and lemon complement each other so well. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Free poppadoms and pickles with orders over £15. Tuesday nights only before 6pm.

Thanks, came up with the idea when messing around with some surplus base gravy. It really does work. Think zingy, fresh, tangy, sweet, sour.
Re: Chicken Tikka Coriander & Lemon Achari Mirch cooked by r
Well done thankyou for the vid RS
and thanks for the light bulb effect i got
ive got a feeling a curry i used to love had masses of coriander stalks cooked in it
it was a beef dish with spinach, no name just the resturuants "Special beef curry"
light on spice heat but warming and what im imagining to be a neutral cold taste from the stalks
which all worked well. All from 20 years ago memory taste im afraid

Nice one Tabs. So the light bulb effect is that you are going to try making a curry very heavy on coriander?

Sheer coincidence that I just took a portion of it out of the freezer. Hope you enjoy it... it's a different one.

Here is my prawn version. I used an extra tbsp cream, just to take the edge off the sharpness from the lemon and pickle. Very nice and very different from anything else I've made.

Re: Coriander & Lemon Achari Mirch (rshome123)
Cheers Alchy. I do think the coriander, lemon and pickle work well together. I feel this dish would work better shared, alongside a Bhuna or a Rogan Josh, say. Something with different but complimentary flavours.
Re: Coriander & Lemon Achari Mirch (rshome123)
Made this last night and it was very nice, if I were to be served it at a restaurant I would be more than happy.
And its only this morning I actually read the bit explaining that you invented it, I had assumed that it was a classic that I had not heard of.
Its quite a strong flavor, so like you say would be good as part of a meal, would make a excellent addition to a Thali.

Nice one Squib, glad you enjoyed it. As Alchy suggests, you can add a little more cream to reduce the sharpness.
What brand of Chilli Pickle did you use btw ?

I used Pataks as it was all I had in the cupboard.
I have never tried the Shan brand before, do you think it would have made a noticeable difference?
Because I'm well up for buying more chilli pickle

Have never tried Pataks Chilli Pickle, so not sure. The Shan Pickle is good (not that I can remember trying other brands).

Hi all and thanks for letting me choose this months Curry Club recipe.
After much deliberation I have decided to go with Coriander & Lemon Achari Mirch by rshome123
I have tried it again since my first post in the recipe thread and have come to really quite like it, so I think its unique taste deserves a wider audience, though I do add that extra Tbls of cream
Plus its a fairly simple ingredients wise, hopefully making it an easy one for most to have a go at.

Thanks Squibo, good choice. As can be seen from the thread, I have made this one before, but very happy to make another one in the spirit of Curry Club, plus it was very nice

Made this to spec.
Used CA base
CA spice mix
Pataks Mixed Chilli Pickle
Used Dark Brown Sugar
Added chicken, raw, when adding the coriander stalks
When i make a dish in this manner, somebody else picks it, i cook as recipe states and i don't taste it until it's on my plate/dish/bowl.
This was absolutely wonderful, a very thick tasting curry with a hint of sweetness from the brown sugar, also the chilli pickle added that extra bit of sourness that marries well with the sweetness of the dish. Will be making this again. Excellent.
