Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
The following graphs show the actual donations to charity achieved of £1090 against a target of £1000 by the 31st December 2014.
The e-book will continue to be available to raise yet more money for the nominated charities.
We would now like to try and achieve £3000 of donations to charity by 30th June 2015:
I have added cumulative donations to date to the top of the index page (i.e. below the promotional video) and will update it periodically.
We are currently investigating additional options to promote the e-book to a wider audience (e.g. Amazon and ebay). We would very much welcome and appreciate any other suggestions members may have on how we might better reach a wider audience?
We would also very much welcome and appreciate any suggestions members may have (or, indeed, any offers of assistance!) with publishing the book in hard copy format.
Once again, thanks to all who have kindly donated. A commendable effort, by all, I feel!

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
With the release of a Kindle Version on Amazon, and the "sale" of our 200th copy of the e-book, it's probably an appropriate time to provide an update on our progress:
Currently, cummulative donations of £1412 have been achieved (in just under 4 months) against our target of £3000 by the 30th June 2015.
The following graphs summarise our progress to date:
The e-book will continue to be available in pdf format as well as in Kindle format.
We would also still very much welcome and appreciate any suggestions members may have (or, indeed, any offers of assistance!) with publishing the book in hard copy format.
Once again, thanks to all who have kindly donated. A commendable effort, by all, I feel!
And many thanks to Alchemist for reformatting the e-book and getting it onto Amazon. Hopefully, it will enable us to significantly increase donations to the nominated charities
PS: Please note that the amount of cummulative donations is regularly updated at the top of the Index Page

That was a big jump today from 1400 odd pounds to 1700 odd. Did I read somewhere that the target was 1500 by Easter? Big congratulations fella's.

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
Yes, well spotted BI, I'm pleased that someone actually looked at it and noticed!
The significant "jump" (of almost £300 to £1786) is due to confirmation of "matched donations" that Alchy secured from Lloyds Bank for donations made to The Salvation Army in 2014. I understand that Alchy did this via his workplace (Achly, please correct me if I'm wrong?). Alchy will also submit a claim for 2015. So many thanks to Alchy, Lloyds and Alchy's workplace!
The target is currently £3000 by the end of June. We are now back on track to achieve that. We also have recent Amazon sales to add to the total (once we've received confirmation of the amounts donated to charity)
Here is a summary of the current status:

And a BIG "Well Done mate" to Alchy for managing to get Lloyds to match the donations pound for pound.

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
Thanks guys. To be honest, as long as the charity meets their fairly strict criteria it is just a matter of submitting a simple form. It was a shame Save the Children or Oxfam were not UK focussed enough to qualify for matched funding as well, but as the limit is £500 per employee per year then I suspect we will be able to achieve this by the end of the year for The Salvation Army alone.

That's great, and I have to say The Salvation Army is my favourite charity. It's the only one I will donate to, as I have seen first hand the good that they do

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
Okay, we set ourselves the rather ambitious target of generating £3000 of donations by 30th June 2015. Unfortunately, we fell short of that target. Nevertheless, the total, to date, is £2046, which is a very laudable effort (I'm sure that you'll agree). So a big THANK YOU to all who have donated to charity to receive their copy and to everyone involved in its production
And a huge BOO HOO (I'm trying to be polite! ) for those that may have taken the opportunity to acquire a "free" version via the morally bankrupt individuals who have maliciously made it "freely" available (clearly choosing to breach copyright). Shame on them ( ), and on anyone else who chooses to deprive the needy by acquiring a pirated and illegal copy of it
Nonetheless, we will continue to make our e-book available with all proceeds/profits being donated to charity
Here is the current status:
We will continue to provide an update of cumulative donations made to date at the top of the index page..
Thank you (to all who have donated to charity to acquire a copy)
PS: Children in Need is an additional charity which Amazon donations are made to because Alchy can claim additional funds from his employer for each donation received (I think!)..

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
Yes, that's right CA, Lloyds Banking Group will match funds we raise for BBC Children in need as well as giving me a bit of free internal advertising to colleagues, as it is their Charity if the year over the next 2 years.
A big thanks to all those who have donated and hopefully enjoyed the ebook. We continue to distribute it and raise funds through this forum as well as having it available to a wider audience through Amazon Kindle, where we have 100% 5 Star reviews to date!

Re: Cumulative Donations to Charity to Date
We are just £60 shy of reaching the magic £3000 in donations for the ebook, so if you've not already got a copy check it out here and help us reach our next milestone!
A huge thanks to all of you who have already supported this so far.
