I have received my copy of V1.1

Looks good, however I have found one initial error.

I have two page 3's.

When page 3 loads in my pdf viewer (Nuance PDF Reader v6.0) I initially see the title "Foreword", some text "to hopefully seeing you" and at the bottom of the page, four thumbnail images, the first looking like a Korma. I'm not sure about the other images, since the "second" page 3 loads quite quickly.

Other than this the book looks good on a first scan through.

Mal, page 3 is the table of contents, are you not able to see it?

Yes, but as I said before the table of contents is displayed I see another page, with the information described above, for about a second. Then the table of contents appears over the previous information, hiding it.

In the recipe for Pilau Rice, "Colourful, long-grained Basmati rice with a tarka of fried aromatic spices", what exactly is a Tarka?

The term is only present on this page, and I assume that this is the result of frying the spices, but it would have been nice if this was explained somewhere.

Good point, Mal, we'll consider expanding on what a "tarka" is in the next revision of the e-book (if there should be one). Thanks for the feedback 8-)

PS: I personally do not experience what you experience with "page 3" of the e-book (although the "3" is partially hidden by the contents table...which is also duly noted, thanks)

Just a heads up, I'm cooking for a party of four tonight.

The Menu

Poppadoms with mango chutney (shop bought) and onion tomato relish (Hairy Bikers)

Pilau Rice, Korma, Chicken Tikka, Pasanda and Butter Chicken, all from the Book.

Side dishes will be Cucumber Raita, shop bought naan, and a tomato salad.

I'll let you all know how it turns out.

It will be BBC Children in Need week the week after next and we will be doing a bit of a campaign to get people to donate for a copy of our ebook. We will be asking for the assistance of forum members with helping to promote this on the various social media outlets of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube etc, as well as on our own forum, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated. So... Just had my copy of the e-book, and been looking through it on my phone. Must say I'm impressed! And thats from just browsing through it, can wait to sit down, study it, and cook a storm!
To anyone on the fence thinking should I shouldn't I get it... Don't think DO! Well worth it and 100% goes to charity, how nice is that!
Thanks for the hard work gone into this.

Alchy, is it worth pointing out that BBC Children In Need has recently been added to our list of nominated charities (there are now four) since you are able to leverage donations made to BBC Children In Need by claiming "matched funds" from your employer (i.e. your employer also donates £5 for every £5 donated to BBC Children In Need)? Would it also be appropriate to mention your employer - since they are kindly donating an additional equivalent amount to charity?

Sure, it's Lloyds Banking Group who keep me off the streets :laugh: and also match funds (up to a value of £500 per employee yearly) for BBC Children in Need.
