OUR TARGET IS TO GENERATE £1000 OF DONATIONS TO CHARITIES BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.

Please help us achieve this target by recommending to your friends and family that they get a copy for themselves. Please also use the social media "share" buttons, at the bottom of the forums HOME PAGE, to promote the e-book on your social media accounts.

The ebook is currently only available for members of this forum. Thereafter, we will open it up to guests and the general public.

Please do not distribute any copies of the ebook but, by all means, please recommend to your friends and family that they get a copy

Might be worth enquiring with Prontaprint (or similar), the cost of printing out the ebook. Actually thinking about it, my local Staples might be able to do something.

Thanks chaps, it's been a real labour of love but we're pretty proud of the end result. Fingers crossed it will raise both money for some good causes and the profile of our forum, as well as getting people cooking some excellent curries :smart:

Great job guys. A really well presented and written book. Probably the best introduction there is for newcomers to the BIR quest. Also a valuable addition to the book collection of the more experienced cooks!

Well done!

We are staggered and humbled by the many generous donations that members have been making to their nominated charity! Thank you so much

Please bear with us whilst we sort out the rather slow, laborious and cumbersome process for issuing members with their copy of the ebook (we will work at streamlining it!)!

Please feel free to comment on anything to do with the ebook in this thread. All comments, feedback and suggestions (good or bad) would be more than gratefully received 8-)

Have had a chance to read through my copy, and as requested here's my feedback...

Very well put together document, which is especially useful for beginners, and will serve as an easy reference to some of the best recipes out there.

I particularly like the section on technique which other eBooks have tended not to focus on.

Index is a good idea too, although I wish the index page numbers were hyperlinked.

A couple of minor niggles, but hardly major...
- Section Headings could be a little larger, to stand out more, especially when printed in monochrome.
- Ideally I'd have like to see further clarification as to the measurement of rounded and heaped spoon volumes.
- What size are the pages ? Haven't tried printing any yet, but will they suit A4 paper in portrait mode ?

All in all, an absolute bargain for the minimum £5 donation, but apparently your curries will be even better if you donate more.

Well done Paul and Les for all your hard work.

Thanks for the feedback, rsh, much appreciated 8-)

The index was a late addition, at my behest, and I think Alchy had had enough of accommodating the hyperlinks (at last minutes notice!)!

Regarding printing, the pdf file is in A4 "landscape" mode but the default mode for readers seems to be "portait" mode. Therefore, users need to change the print option from "portrait" to "landscape"....Alchy will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure....

Thanks to CA and Alchemist for a long hard slog, seeking neither praise nor remuneration, to get this book out as accurately and well written as possible.
I would like to say that the whole concept should be a matter of pride to the members of this forum.
It demonstrates the nature and aims of this place in a concise manner i.e. a place to further the skills and knowledge of those who seek aid, given freely by those who have something to offer.
I hope the book raises a large sum of money for the charities chosen, and those who contribute by purchasing the book, feel that they have benefitted by their donation, and acquisition.

I got my copy this morning so I went out to buy what I was short of for the base gravy. Put all the veg in and then put tbsp instead of tsp for the cumin and coriander seeds. Managed to fish out 1 tbsp so it's still well over. I'm hoping for the best. What a plonker!!
