Thanks, trance.

You are spot on it is Aberdeen Angus mince.

Got it from Costco (Westhill) at a good price.

Portioned it and froze.

Re: Yesterday's Keema Pathia.

Good morning,CA. We seem to be on a pathia "roll"just now. We both love the hot sweet and sour. Part of the credit is due to steve paradox and his recent curry of the month recipe. I will post my version which includes the tweaks already discussed. There are photos of some of the initial s...

Re: October 2018 - adeypayne's Shatkora

Looks like our local TA may also have difficulty getting Shatkora.

Using Calmansi Lemon.

Not Adeys choice, but might be a reasonable substitute.

Re: dried methi V fresh methi

I grew fresh methi from seed in the greenhouse a few summers ago.

About the same time, I experimented with sprouting the seeds, mung bean fashion.

Not season dependant, really pungent, but requires some planning ahead.

Info here somewhere, will try to find for you.

Re: dried methi V fresh methi

As always,fresh is best.

And it is no real effort to sprout the seeds.

They will also grow under glass in the summer.

My problem with buying fresh is it always seens to be full of dust, and needs a good wash.

Re: August 2018 - Steveparadox's Pathia

As mentioned,I intended to give this a try. So it was our dinner tonight. Out if base, so decided to try ca's simple base. Had no tamarind, or mango chutney, so tweaked other sweet and sours. made a double portion of the sauce. like it thick so added enough gravy to get it to our liking. Good recipe...

Re: August 2018 - Steveparadox's Pathia

Great photo of your original, and subsequent clones.

Pathia is one of our favourites.

Will definitely try soon.

Short of a couple of ingredients , but might try substitutes.

Re: Garlic Chilli Keema

Pauly you are absolutely right regarding fresh chillies. We enjoyed this so much we decided to do it again using the Aldi packet of shorter chillies. The keema was precooked to rshome123 recipe last week. Precooking was not really necessary in this case but we enjoyed the taste so we used the same s...

Likewise I try to minimise waste. Freezer is well used.
