Good choice, pauly. According to the Hallmark gift web site the 34th Anniversary gift of choice is food.

Tasty and balanced mixture. What wine have you got there that stood up to all those flavours?

Re: August 2018 - Steveparadox's Pathia

I made this tonight for my son and I. I couldn't find any Mr Naga but used Encona Original Hot Pepper Sauce which has scotchbonnet (yeah) and habanero peppers in it. It's from the wrong Indies, of course, but it does taste good and only £1 in Tesco in the UK at the moment. Very tasty dish although I...

Re: June 2018 - ScotchBonnet's Pudina Gosht

Thank you for trying my recipe. Very good photos. I like the “mise en place” approach (put everything into little bowls ready to cook). Yes, add more mint by all means. I'm not sure if jars of Colman's mint sauce vary in their strength or not.

Well done. Now, you have said that the base gravy (a recipe from this site) was good so try other recipes from this site and I think you will be even more pleased.

Re: Vegetarian Recipe Index

Just added an onion bhaji recipe from Bandit. He has included a downloadable A4-size recipe if you wish to add it to your collection - nice touch. That takes the total of veg. recipes up to 100 by my reckoning. A fair few are onion bhajis, mind you, so today is (unofficially) Onion Bhaji Day: Onion ...

Re: Vegetarian Recipe Index

Gentlepersons of the BIR Curries forum - Summer in the Northern Hemisphere is looming and the mood turns to outdoor cooking with grilled or tandoored meat. Let us not forget, though, that fresh vegetables are becoming plentiful, wild garlic is just waiting to be harvested and various other green thi...

Re: Vegetarian Recipe Index

I'm slowly going through the vegetarian recipes on this forum and trying to group them into categories. I am adding my own comments to each dish as I go but if any members want to add comments for their own dishes then I am open to suggestions. For any members who cook vegetarian dishes but have not...

Re: May 2018 - Bandit's Lamb Kofta Curry

Those air-fried balls look very good - wondering if I should get one (air-fryer, that is - not a ball) to sit next to my electric pressure cooker. I have to confess that I have not had time to attempt this dish but the amount of spices looks about double what I'd put in a similar-sized portion. Some...

Re: Trio Of Chicken

I am jealous. I spent our yearly sunny day inside in a room with no windows. Come rain or shine I will be having a nice chicken pathia on Friday to celebrate the end of the week.

Re: Shock-Horror Mother's Curry!

We only get a glacé cherry on our biryani where I am. We get onion, cucumber and a pineapple ring too, mind you.

One of my favourite school meals was some unidentified ground meat in a green sauce and with lots of raisins. The white bits on top might have been coconut.
