Re: Perth, Western Australia meet up.

Looks bang on, lads. Maybe AIR is the new BIR?

What are the deep fried goodies in the basket?

Glad you had a great time. What it's all about, really...

Re: rsaha's curry pics

My brother, who is a very good photographer but by his own admission not as talented in this particular department as Rsaha reckons that the lemon is too light and the onion too. But he knows someone who has took snaps for ASDA and Tesco who reckons that these pics are not far from being the real de...

Re: April 2017 - macferret's King Prawn Tikka

This looks seriously good. If I hadn't got a batch of Blade's tikka in the fridge then I'd go for this.

I like the idea of adding some of my Spanish paprika to this. I can taste it already!

Many congratulations, Macferret. Looks like a cracker!

Re: Chicken Bhuna with Spinach

Dry as a bone Frank. Probably a tad too dry for me but this is probably what an authentic Bhuna should be like. I've had bhunas in restaurants which were as saucey as baltis! I think sometimes the takeaways and restaurants are scared of serving dry dishes.

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up

I'm obviously easier pleased then because I enjoyed it. However, I will say that if you follow certain recipes on here then you'll cook curries to restaurant standard and that, forcing comparisons, may be part of the problem. I had a curry from a local takeaway before Christmas and carried...

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up

Have you tried Westy's madras, mate? One to go for if you like a bit of heat with a rich tomato hit. He's very humble in accpeting my compliments but it's a cracking curry.

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up

Anyway, back on topic... :lol::

Steve: The madras was a very rich and quite 'tomatoey' sauce. Quite sweet but VERY hot. Quite a 'saucy' curry as well. I've had better but I've certainly had worse!

Re: Ashton-Under-Lyne meet up 12th March

Hope this has gone well.

There are a lot of members on this site and it would be nice to think that a fair chunk of them would be interested in meeting fellow-minded folk. I really think it enhances the experience of this forum.

Enjoy, gents! Have a swipe of naan for me!

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up

Tom, as discussed briefly it'd be good to do the Balti Triangle next.

We're spoiled in our neck of the woods curry wise. Lye and Sparkbrook are Balti heavens.

Re: West Midlands Curry Meet Up

What a great evening. Cheers Tom for organizing and I hope we can all do it again sooner rather than later. Nice to meet Slicker and his wife (thanks so much for the lift home) and Ollie and Dave as well. Ale was good and the food superb. That was one HOT madras. Slicker didn't flinch! It was great ...
