Re: Methi Powder
I use them in certain dishes. It imparts a bitter-sweet flavour and a pungent aroma, especially when the seeds are roasted whole then ground. Ideal for a Dahl or in addition to a vegetable dish. I use it mostly in Butter Chicken and Dahl, but also in italian pasta dishes. (apologies in advance for q...

Re: DIY How to Vacuum seal shop bought jars at home save pou
I can't see why anyone would want to vac seal wine.
That said, I have seen people use vac seal bags to seal the wine and then freeze it for future use.
If the bottle is open, it needs to be finished imo

Nice spread ziggycat.
It sure is a long day in the kitchen doing numerous dishes. These BIR chefs make it look so easy (with their team doing all the preperation work)

Re: Butter Chicken & naan
It's not quite a BIR ('Hides from CA's PM') but its a very good recipe and delivers a restaurant taste.
I'd score it 7.5-8.0 out of 10 (even with my novice cooking skills)
I upped the finger chilli's from the original recipe and replaced the honey with a spoon of sugar.

Re: First full-on meal after shopping trip
Lovely looking spread there, and cooked in a boat kitchen... you deserve a medal. I had a static caravan for a number of years and know what its like to cook with limited kitchen resource. Well done dude! Also.... once we are well in to spring, get some of those fenugreek seeds planted out on a boat...

Re: Kasoori Methi in the UK?
Looking good beachbum.
Pick a leaf off now and leave on your desk to dry on its own. After a few days you will notice the aroma starting to come through.
I think a slow dry technique will give a more pungent flavor / aroma than a fast dry.

Re: Kasoori Methi in the UK?
So here is the finished goods, smelling as it should.
So from a 6" round plant pot I have a yield of about 3 tablespoons of kasoori methi.
Next summer i'll be growing 4ft x 2ft bed of it, (2-3 times) and that should see me through a year (estimated)
